My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is May! I am a beautiful 2-3 year old brindle Mama that gave birth to puppies on 2/19/25 in the rescue. They moved on to their foster/adoptive homes so it is now my turn! I have come out of my shell in my foster home and love life! I am house trained, excellent in the crate, ride shotgun great in the car, and need some work on leash manners! I know basic commands such as "lay down", "no", "come here", "paw", and I'm learning "sit". I even do a cute handshake too while I'm sitting without command! I have not lived with a cat, so it is uncertain if I am cat friendly, but my foster mom believes I would chase them and may not do well with them. I live with a 7 year old pit/boxer mix and after a slow intro and a day of getting used to her and learning she isn't a threat to me, I just want to be her best friend and play all the time! She doesn't play as much as I'd like so during those times I entertain myself by doing zoomies in the backyard, playing with toys, or watching out of the office window for squirrels/barking at people as they walk by the home! I love stuffies, rope toys, and squeakers! Although I share toys and space well, I'm stingy with my food and will resource guard if other dogs are around. Because of that, I eat in my crate and am crated when the humans are eating dinner. Once everyone is done, all food bowls are picked up and I go back to playing or hanging out with the humans! This has helped me to be less anxious and there haven't been any further issues. I currently live with 3 teenagers and am great with them! I met the neighbor lady when she came over and just wanted her to pet me! I love anyone that gives me attention or scratches! When I'm outside I do not dig, but have found out that I do not like dogs on other sides of fences that I can't see, especially if they bark at me. Aside from that, I love to run zoomies, chase and run with the resident dog, or burn off energy by running figure 8's outside! My foster mom believes an active home that can take me on walks, play with me, etc would be great! A big yard would be ideal! Because of my energy and stinginess with food, small children in the home may not be best. Sometimes I tend to get energetic and would accidentally knock a child over unintentionally! If you are looking for a sweet and beautiful girl, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
