Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! I'm Oliver, your future best friend and gentle giant. At 5 years old and weighing in at a sturdy 128 pounds, I'm neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, ready to join your family.
I’m a big, gentle soul who loves nothing more than being with my human. I’ll follow you everywhere, and I’m happiest right by your side. I do get a little nervous sometimes, and when that happens… well, I go into slobber mode (yes, there may be puddles!). But when I’m relaxed, there’s no slobber at all.
I’m fully housebroken, no accidents here! I’m doing well with crate training and sleep in my crate every night. I also stay in my crate when my foster family leaves the house. But if you’re home and I’m crated, I’ll let you know I’d much rather be out with you. I have a bit of separation anxiety, but after a few minutes of whining, I settle down just fine.
I know basic commands like sit, stay, shake, and heel, and I walk well on leash, as long as there aren’t other dogs or cats around. I do have a prey drive when it comes to cats, though squirrels and birds don’t bother me. Noisy or overly energetic dogs make me nervous, so I’m still working on socialization in that area.
I’m currently living with Lola, a female dog, and we’re still figuring each other out. My foster parents are cautious with our interactions. Because of my size, anxiety, and dog preferences, I’d do best in a home without other dogs or small children. I’ve lived with a large female dog in the past, so a home with the right match might work, but overall I’d thrive best as the only pet.
I may be a big guy, but I’m smart, mellow, and deeply affectionate. I’ve got the good looks of a Saint Bernard without the constant drool (unless I'm nervous!). I’m just looking for a family who will love me, help me continue to grow, and make me their forever companion.
If you’ve got room in your heart and home for a sweet, loyal, loving boy like me, I’m waiting for you.
