Meet our super sweet and chirpy girl named Mama! Mama is about 10 years old and we are told she is a Siberian breed type cat. She came to our shelter after her owner no longer wanted to care for her. Mama is a very friendly cat who loves head rubs. She will hop right up on to the couch with you for snuggles in your lap. She has a beautiful, soft coat that sometimes bounces when she walks. Mama did live with another cat previously. While here, she is a little hissy with other cats, but we think given enough time, she could warm up to living with another cat that gives her her space. Mama can go to a home with children 8 years old and older.

Meriden Animal Control IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.
ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
