My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here comes the bio for our wonderfully mellow cryptid cuddlebug—Swamp Monster:
Hi, I’m Swamp Monster—but don’t worry, I’m more marshmallow than menace. You won’t find me thrashing through the bayou… more like chillin’ on the middle tier of the cat tree, practicing my best swamp Zen.  I’ve lived with a few fellow creatures—currently cohabitating peacefully with Cinco and Ginkgo. I’m not one for wild romps or zoomies (unless there’s a lap involved), but I *will* emerge from the depths to lovingly circle your ankles like a gentle whirlpool of affection. Then I’ll plop in your lap and summon a purr so powerful it could ripple through the wetlands.  I’m easygoing with other cats and don’t cause a stir in the colony—but I’d be perfectly happy as your one-and-only bog buddy too. Oh, and I’m FIV+, which just means I’ve got a special kind of swamp strength and a reminder that I’m looking for someone who sees the beauty in a cat with a little extra mystery.  Ready to discover the legend for yourself? Adopt me and prepare for a lifetime of cozy currents, gentle headbutts, and swamptastically loyal companionship.

Go meet their pets

We will be holding adoption event days with PetSmart on Ft Jackson Blvd and Two Notch Rd as well as PetSense on Garners Ferry Rd. These are partnerships that we've initiated and that have been greeted with open arms by these great organizations. MUCH More to Come!

More about this rescue

At Cat Around Town Project, we believe that by spaying and neutering as many stray and colony cats as possible, we are proactively controlling overpopulation at its source. All kittens and any cats that are adoptable are removed from the colonies and adopted to suitable homes. One day, when the supply meets the demand, there will be a home waiting for every kitten in our community. .
