Hi there! I’m Paisley, a one-year-old gray and white girl with a gentle heart. I might be a bit shy at first, often finding my favorite hiding spots under furniture when I’m feeling scared or unsure. But once I get comfortable, I absolutely love to be held and petted. I was discovered as a stray in a cat colony, but don’t let that fool you—I’m a friendly little thing just looking for a warm and loving place to call home. I hope to find a family who can be patient with me while I adjust to my new surroundings. I promise to bring quiet love and companionship to your home. Some animals shown are rehoming courtesy posts for the current owners, and other animals are available for adoption through Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs).

All animals in the care of FRAs have their annual vaccinations, sterilization, FeLV/FIV test for cats, and a microchip. You must sign an adoption contract when adopting a pet through FRAs.

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. FRAs was founded in 2004 by 4 volunteers who wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter. Our organization has grown to over 300 volunteers, and with this growth, we now support two municipal shelters -- Rowlett, TX and Garland, TX – and operate our own cat rescue program.

Our mission is to provide resources, programs and education to promote adoption and care of homeless pets in our community. FRAs’ vision is a world where every companion animal has a safe and loving forever home. We are a 100% all volunteer run organization, and our ability to help homeless animals depends on donations from the community and grant funding.

Our organizational programs include operating the volunteer program for both shelters, providing funding for heartworm treatments and emergency medical care, accepting cats from the shelter and citizens into our foster-based cat rescue, supporting TNR/SNR efforts for community cats and most recently funding dog transport initiatives. Our volunteers spend thousands of hours socializing and marketing the animals for adoption, which increases the number of animals with a positive outcome. FRAs has helped countless pets avoid euthanasia, find their forever homes and live longer, healthier lives.
