My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Belinciaga, a sweet and elegant feline looking for her forever home! She's a quiet companion who loves sunny windows, cozy blankets, and the occasional head scratch. Though a little shy at first, she warms up quickly with a patient and loving touch. Belinciaga would thrive in a calm environment where she can truly blossom. We don't know much about her life as she came to us without any identification after a good Samaritan found her near their home and brought her in. She is friendly and might do okay in a home with another cat after slow and careful introductions. Belinciaga may be comfortable with older children who are cat savy and can read her body language when she is feeling anxious or overwhelmed. If you're searching for a graceful and affectionate cat to complete your family, Belinciaga may be the perfect match.

Belinciaga is currently awaiting her spay surgery and will be available to go home afterwards. If you are interested in adopting, please apply online at the link below.

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
