Meet Herrera a beautiful white and orange tabby who is a true survivor. Herrera arrived in rescue along with 3 siblings in September of 2024. Herrera was always on the shy side and in November we discovered she had a heart murmur. Upon further testing she was diagnosed with FIP in December of 2024. If you are not familiar with FIP-it is a fatal, immune-mediated disease in cats caused by certain strains of feline coronavirus. This virus usually attacks organs in the body-and for Herrera it attacked her heart. Thankfully we have a treatment that has great success! Herrera started treatment right away and since completion her bloodwork has been great the last two times. She has been spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, combo tested negative and now ready for adoption. Recent visit to the cardiologist at MedVet showed that her heart is great! She is no longer on medication....we are thrilled!
Herrera is looking for a loving and more quiet home. She was born around July of 2024 and is fostered with several other cats and does great. She is not aggressive, but she may be timid at first. She loves toys, running water, and Churu treats. She loves to play! She is such a sweet girl and loves to purr. She talks to you for attention and for her wet food! She is a sweetie and a survivor for sure!
