Meet Pastito – or as we lovingly call him, SITO! 🐶❤️
This sweet and gentle soul was rescued from the streets of Mexico and has recently arrived in Canada, where he's settling beautifully into his foster home with. A 7-year-old Schnauzer mix weighing about 30 lbs, Sito is already stealing hearts with his soft eyes and loving personality.
Sito is a true survivor – he overcame distemper earlier in life. As a result, he has a few unique quirks that make him all the more special: his tongue hangs out a little (which only adds to his charm!) and he occasionally has mild tremors, both common after-effects of distemper. But don't worry—he’s been thoroughly checked by both vets in Mexico and here in Canada. He’s up to date on all his vaccinations, had a full panel of tests, and even got his teeth cleaned—he's healthy and ready for his next chapter!
Sito is doing amazingly well with house training and is already showing great manners around the home. He sleeps peacefully through the night (though he sometimes does dream), doesn’t need a crate, and isn’t destructive. While he enjoys his meals (albeit a little messily!), he’s happiest when he can relax with his foster dad, whether that’s on the couch, in his bed, or getting a good brush—which he loves! He is low shedding so far.
He’s a low-key, affectionate pup who enjoys hanging out in a secure backyard and is comfortable on leash. Sito is a little shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly with kindness and patience. He gets along well with other dogs, and while we’re not sure how he feels about cats yet, he’s generally calm and easygoing.
Sito would be a perfect companion for a retired person, couple, or anyone looking for a relaxed and loving dog to share their life with. He’s fine when left alone but will joyfully greet you when you return. He’s not high maintenance—just looking for love, comfort, and someone to appreciate his beautiful soul.
