Max is a friendly, happy, affectionate, and playful, six-year-old, 20-pound, male black and white Shih Tzu looking for a loving guardian.

Max loves people and gets along with other dogs. He loves car rides and does beautifully on leashed walks.

As friendly and loving as Max is, he also has another side. He has some resource-guarding issues. So, if you drop food, he’ll grab it. If he rummages through the trash, you can’t take anything from his mouth, or he’ll bite. He can be taught to trade for a treat.

So, Max is looking for an experienced dog-lover without children who is able to manage his behavior. Max is such a great dog, but his new family must learn not to grab stuff from his mouth.

He is very healthy, dewormed, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper and Bordetella vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue. He comes complete with absolutely everything you need to care for him. He has been professionally groomed and has a soft magnificent coat.
