Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blue is doing great! She is obsessed with her toys and balls. Very play driven but sleeps a lot as well. Not a super high energy dog, but very different from my own 2 low energy, wake up at 10am type dogs. She's better with cats than any foster dog I've had before, including my own. She's putting on weight! Still a ways to go, but less hip bone and ribs every day 🥰
From her foster mom: Pretty little Blue. She has a very sweet nature and gentle temperament. She is completely house-trained and very well behaved in the house. She knows some basic commands, and could easily learn more with a toy or ball as the reward. Blue does great being left alone either in a crate or not. She is quiet in her crate and settles right away. She sleeps through the night in our room, on her dog bed on the floor. She is a more cautious dog and unsure of new situations and experiences. However, with a few days and reassurance, she masters those tough new things (like stairs, a sliding door, and the vacuum.)
Blue loves nothing more than her tennis balls and a good game of fetch. She's an expert at it and will ALWAYS bring the ball back to you! She does not get distracted, this is her job and she won't quit unless you do! She drops the ball at your feet and then backs up so you can grab it in peace. A real sport dog.
So far, she is indifferent to the other dogs in the home, and seems to have zero desire to play with them. She only wants to be with her people, and play with them, or a toy. She is amazing with cats! Curious and happy to see them when they come around; she will sniff them, but doesn't chase or pester them at all.
Blue eats well and enjoys her snacks, but is not very food driven. This frugal gal has had no interest in any chew sessions with bully sticks or beef cheek rolls. She prefers the "fake" chews like nylabone or benebone, and only for a few minutes.
Her true passion and drive is playing with her human and a ball! She also enjoys tug of war and squeaky toys.
Blue wants a family of her own and will bond strongly once she trusts and knows she's home. This resilient girl has been through so much and just wants to be loved.
This is the face of a girl who doesn’t understand why she has been in a shelter without a family for 18 MONTHS. She completed heartworm treatment. She is a healthy girl who should weigh about 50 pounds. (She needs to put on some weight). She comes from a home with kids and dogs and understands there is more than shelter life. This doll is 3 and finally headed to Maine to find her family. She will be here 4/19.
Adoption fee is $475
