Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, I’m Smokey — a 7-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a stunning tri-color coat and eyes that’ll stop you in your tracks. They say I’m beautiful and smart… and who am I to argue?
I came to the shelter on 04/11/2024 after I managed to escape my fenced-in yard. I wasn’t trying to cause trouble — I just have a bit of a curious spirit. My family couldn’t keep me safe at home, so now I’m here, hoping for a second chance with someone who’ll love me forever and keep me secure.
At 43 pounds, I’m the perfect size for snuggles and adventures. I already know sit, stay, and shake — and I’m always ready to show off my skills for a treat! I recently had a litter of pups, but I’ll be taking the “no more puppies” pledge when I’m adopted. (Spay day is coming soon!) I’m housebroken, though not crate trained, and I’ve never bitten anyone — not even when I’m nervous.
I’m great with dogs and kids of all ages, but I’ll be honest: cats just aren’t my thing. I’d do best in a feline-free home where I can soak up all the love from my humans and doggy pals.
You can find me in cage #829, and my ID is 9317. If you’re looking for a loyal friend with brains, beauty, and a whole lot of love to give… come meet me. I’ve got a feeling we’d make a perfect match. 🐾💛
Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER.
This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
