My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Pending

Paris is an approximately 3 year old fawn female with natural ears. She and ChiChi were rescued together from a home where she was being kept outdoors in a small pen, with no shelter. She is very friendly and outgoing, and loves people of all sizes. The initial report said she was timid, but when I met her at the kennel at the end of her transport, she jumped out of the van and came right to me, wagging her tail, with a big silly grin on her face. She’s also very inquisitive. We turned her loose in the office at the kennel, and she immediately explored the entire suite, top to bottom. She’s had some training, and seems to know commands, but doesn’t always pay attention - she responded very well to commands during her evaluation at the vet’s office, but not so much when in the playroom at the kennel. She’s very good with other dogs, but at this point has not been tested with cats. It’s unknown whether she’s housebroken, but she has yet to have an accident during extended playtimes in our play room.
Update 11/13/10 - Paris is now in a foster home, and is doing very well. She’s gaining weight and learning all about house manners. She was definitely not housebroken when she arrived, but her foster mom has been working on it, and she’s getting the idea. She is curious about everything. She loves to explore, and to race around the yard. She gets along well with her new Dane brother, and will leave the cats alone if someone is around (she’s not above chasing them if she thinks she can get away with it). She has a possible issue with one eyelid which the vet believes is caused by malnutrition, and should resolve itself over the next eight weeks.
