My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Now Spinning: Dejuan “DJ” – The King of Cuddles
Available for Adoption!

Introducing Dejuan – aka DJ – an 8-year-old mixed breed with a whole lot of love (and a whole lot of dog) to give! At his size, he’s what we like to call a “big boy”, but don’t let that fool you – DJ is basically a marshmallow in a dog suit.

This sweet senior isn’t here to chase trends – he’s here to chase your heart. DJ loves love. Like, really loves love. Hugs? Yes. Ear scratches? Absolutely. Belly rubs? Don’t even get him started.

He’s got that smooth, laid-back energy of a dog who knows the good things in life: a comfy bed, a tasty treat, and a human to lean on (literally – he’s a professional leaner).

If you`re looking for a loyal best friend with excellent cuddle credentials and the wisdom of his years, DJ is available and waiting to meet you.

Don’t miss this track – come meet DJ today and let the love play on repeat.

More about this shelter

The Animal Services Department provides response for complaints concerning domestic animals, reptiles and livestock. The Animal Control Officers are responsible for impounding animals that are stray, quarantining animals which have bitten a person, and disposing of deceased animals. We only accept stray animals found inside Midlothian city limits. If you find an animal outside of the city, please contact the shelter for that area. This is the same for pet surrenders which are accepted by appointment only with limited availability.
