My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cedar is a good example of first impressions are not everything. She might be a spitfire when she first meets you, but boy does she take affectionate to a whole new level! Cedar is looking for her adventure buddy! Land, sea, air, this girl does not care as long as she is out running around… Well, maybe water is her favorite, as some mistake her for the next Michael Phelps. Cedar is believed to be around a year-old heeler mix and is the perfect size weighing about 30lbs. She is absolutely stunning! Move over Cindy Crawford, pictures do not do this girl justice; She has a chocolate coat that shines in the sun and a smile that is infectious. Cedar was trapped near Cedar Creek as she was dumped by her previous owner who apparently did not see all the amazing potential Cedar has. Cedar needed some time to decompress in a home before she could show us how amazing she is. Cedar can be nervous about meeting new people, but once you say her name or give her a treat, she is your best friend for life! It does not take long for Cedar to warm up to someone if they are willing to throw a ball. She is a very sweet dog needing guidance and training, she is extremely smart and picks up on things quickly. Did someone say agility?! She also has not had a single accident in rescue. Since coming to rescue she has learned how to ride in a vehicle and is learning to be kennel trained. She needs appropriate introductions with dogs, as she loves to play. She has done great with the cats at rescue but will herd livestock if not supervised. We are not placing her with children as she has herded them while on the swings, but that has been the only issue we have seen with her and children, as overall she is very affectionate. Knowledge about herding dogs is important for the adoption of Cedar. Cedar is looking for a good running partner or land she can explore and run around on. Throwing the ball will also suffice. She is an active girl! She also LOVES to curl up next to you or rather on you and be the best cuddler. She is truly an affectionate love bug once she knows you. She just needs someone to help her gain confidence. Cedar is spayed, UTD on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. Homeownership and a fenced yard are preferred. This rescue will not adopt out to individuals who have unaltered domestic pets.
