Meet Minnie, a sweet and gentle cat who is new to the shelter and already capturing hearts with her affectionate nature. Though she’s still adjusting to her new surroundings, Minnie is a calm and friendly soul who thrives on attention. She loves when you gently pet her, purring softly as she enjoys the peaceful connection. Her warm, loving personality shines through in every interaction, and she’s sure to make anyone feel at ease. If you're looking for a serene and sweet companion, Minnie is ready to curl up and share her quiet joy with you. She's spayed, vaccinated and litter trained.

Cats are same day adoptions as they do not require an application process. If you'd like to meet our cats, call the shelter and we can get you scheduled in. Or come in during our kennel hours which are Mon-Fri 12pm-4pm. Or we are open Saturdays 9am-1pm. If you have any questions give us a call at 937-498-7201.

Our adoption fees are quite reasonable and include the Annual Dog Tags required for all dogs in Shelby County.

The Shelby County Animal Shelter is a County office designed to serve the residents of Shelby County. They answer calls for stray dogs, complaints of dogs running at large, animal kills by dogs and coyotes, pick up stray dogs, answer humane complaints and reports of loose dogs.

The SCAS is open to people looking for a pet, looking for a missing pet, and those who just want to look at the animals. They accept dogs and cats from owners as well as strays, however a fee may be involved. They offer dogs, puppies, cats and kittens for adoption.
