Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** If you are interested in adopting Jack, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Jack is a 1-year-old cutie, believed to be a Dachshund / Jack Russell mix. He has the sweetest little face and a heart full of love. Weighing just 15 lbs, Jack may be small and short legged, but his capacity for cuddles is huge. Jack was found wandering in a rural Arkansas field—an area known for its heartbreaking dog dumping problem.
Jack is a gentle, affectionate pup who gains confidence from having another dog around. In his foster home, Jack has shown us how much he thrives with a canine companion by his side. He’s happiest when he's got a buddy to lean on, whether it's to play, explore, or just curl up together for a nap. When separated from his furry friend, he can get a little nervous and unsure—but with another friendly pup in the home, Jack shines. Because we want Jack to be happy and thrive, we are only open to finding him a home with another young dog.
Jack is now ready for a fresh start and a family that understands the value of companionship—for dogs and people alike. If you have a sweet dog who’s looking for a loyal sidekick, Jack might just be the perfect addition to your pack.
We don’t know if Jack has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help him build confidence, bond with his new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set Jack up for success.
Jack has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ .
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
