My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB 04/2024

Jacobia is shy, but does great with the other foster cats and our dogs. Jacobia is one of six kittens born on a farm in Silverton. She has the most beautiful tabby markings. She is bonded with her sister Angel, who is social, playful and has a shiny black coat.

Adopting a shy cat, like Jacobia, and helping her blossom can be so rewarding. But it will require patience, understanding, and a willingness to accept your new cat even if she never becomes a lap cat or major cuddle bug.

Most of our kitties are placed in bonded pairs.  One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier.

PLEASE READ:

Adoption fee $100 per kitty. All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve.  We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home.

We do deliver kitties to your home. If you application is approved, we will set up a meet and greet.

Silverton Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We are an all volunteer organization.   All our kitties are in foster care.  We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet.

In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application, https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.
