Jelly Belly is such a good kitty! He likes to peacefully nap throughout the day, and when he wakes up he’s looking for affection! He’ll call out with soft meows and adorable trills whenever he’s ready for company. He loves being pet and brushed, tilting his head back to enjoy every moment.

Jelly Belly is blind so he may wonder where you are sometimes. When he gives his “hello?” meow you’ll respond to him quickly, you won’t be able to help it! This kitty is easy to love.

Blind cats are amazing at adapting, using their sharp hearing and memory to navigate their world. Show him around the house, and he’ll have the place mapped out with a little practice.

Jelly Belly is going to be a loving, loyal companion — we can’t wait to see him get his second chance in a warm, caring home! Reach out to meet his boy and talk about his blindness, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

Step one:
Browse our available animals online. Our website has more details on every animal, including any known history with dogs, cats, and kids, as well as individual adoption fees. Visit https://www.austinpetsalive.org/adopt

Step two:
Using the provided contact form here or on the APA! website, you can send an inquiry on the animal(s) you are interested in.

Step three:
Our adoption team will connect you to the foster home or someone at the shelter location where the animal is currently living to learn more about the animal and potentially set up a visit!

Step four:
After meeting the animal you would like to adopt, instructions for completing the adoption paperwork, scheduling an appointment, and picking up your new family member will be shared with you!
