Hawk is a resilient and spirited one-year-old, 54-pound German Shepherd/Chow mix looking for a fresh start with a loving family. His early life was tough—he arrived at the Maricopa County shelter with a collar embedded in his neck, a sign of neglect. Thankfully, he received the care he needed and found his way to Home Fur Good, where he has since healed and blossomed into a happy, affectionate pup.
Despite his rough beginnings, Hawk has a fun-loving personality and plenty of puppy energy. His bouncy, playful nature makes him a joy to be around, though he can be a bit mouthy—a common trait in young dogs. Hawk is highly intelligent and will thrive with training to help him learn good manners. His ideal home would be with an experienced family familiar with large breed dogs, and a yard where he can run and play would be a bonus.
Hawk is a Guardian Angel dog with an adoption fee of $400. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable and command an increased adoption fee. This higher fee is used to defray the costs of caring for rescues with special needs, either medical or behavioral, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way our Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! Adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment by calling 602-971-1334.
