Here's what the humans have to say about me:
There’s that undeniable "aww" moment we all experience when we see an adorable, young dog in need of our help. Kona is sweet, loving, and irresistibly endearing. She has a way of melting hearts and leaving you absolutely head over heels in love. Kona is not just a dog, she’s a reminder of the resilience and love that can emerge from even the toughest situations.
Sadly, for dogs like Kona, the story doesn’t always start with a warm home. Before she found safety, Kona was found wandering the terrifying streets of rural Arkansas, vulnerable and alone. She was picked up and brought into a shelter that left her facing the very real threat of euthanasia.
When Rescued Pets Movement in Texas reached out to Farfel’s Rescue with an urgent plea to save Kona, we knew we couldn’t turn our backs on this sweet soul. At just 10 months old and weighing 35 pounds, Kona is a gorgeous mix of Border Collie and Cattle Dog. Shelter workers had already fallen in love with her—her sweet energy, her desire to please, and her natural ability to connect with those who show her kindness. All these qualities speak of Kona's excellent temperament and her ability to fit seamlessly into the home and hearts of a dog-loving Colorado family.
Without hesitation, Farfel's Rescue responded, welcoming this precious pup into our care. Kona is now on her way to finding the forever family she so truly deserves.
From Kona's rescuer:
Are you looking for a running pal? A walking pal? A cuddle pal? A brewery pal? A road-trip pal? A kid-friendly pal? Kona wants to do it all! We are positively smitten with this sweet, smart and super social snugglebug.
Kona is a truly joyful dog. Whether its people, kids, or other dogs, Kona loves everyone and everything she meets. She gets along great with our resident dog. When he’s had enough play time, she has the wisdom to just back away and give him space.
Behind Kona's big brown eyes, you can tell that she's super-smart and loves to learn new things. She has quickly mastered new commands like sit, stay, and lie down. It only took her two days to figure out her food puzzle game.
Kona wouldn't mind a quiet home, but would also do great in a home with a lot going on. She loves activity and being at the center of a loving family. As far as her crate, Kona tolerates it but its not her favorite thing.
In conclusion, Sweetie-pie Kona is a really really great dog and will make a lucky family a wonderful, loving and irresistible best friend.
Kona is up to date on her vetting and vaccinations to stay true to Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to fulfill our commitment to ending the tragic overpopulation challenge within the canine population.
Kona is available for adoption now. Applications are being accepted for this gorgeous girl and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this extremely sweet, cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Kona, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
