Introducing Venus, a 3 year old female spayed German Shepherd. She’s a petite gal weighing just 45-50 lbs and has had a tough year losing both her owner and the only dog friend she has ever had at once. She didn’t get much socialization with animals during her formative years and, as a result of that, she is not comfortable with other animals and is reactive on leash when she sees one. This leaves her looking for a new home as an only pet. What she lacks with her dog social skills, she makes up for tenfold with her people skills. She does great meeting new people and is very polite and friendly. She also excels at obedience and learned sit, down and wait quickly. She has not had any leash training so would need to go to someone who is willing to work with her on that or has a fenced in yard for her to explore in. She may have some things to learn, but she is a willing and eager student for the right home. Venus was previously diagnosed with a seizure disorder, but is on medication that controls it and we have seen no symptoms of it since taking her in two months ago.
