We have gotten to know Orville better as he’s settled into foster care… he’s a mostly friendly guy but not without his quirks.

This 2 year old Maltese mix (maltipoo? Havanese? Bichon? 🤷‍♀️ he came to us so dirty and matted and looked grey but now is mostly whitish) has been happy to meet new people and dogs and make new friends. He is an anxious guy who prefers to with people more often than not, and can be a bit protective of his food and resources at times so adults only to live with. He’s been doing pretty well with housebreaking as long as taken out on a schedule. We suspect he was crated long hours leading to a lot of his anxiety, and rubbed the fur off his nose trying to get out 😔, and definitely wasn’t getting much attention or care. Orville is about 13lbs full grown and does have a non-shedding coat that needs regular grooming. He’s a busy happy little guy who likes to explore and go for walks, not a couch potato lapdog who just wants to lay around and nap or be dressed up and coddled like a stuffed animal- he wants to be treated like a real dog!

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
