Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** If you are interested in adopting Dash, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Have you ever seen a big dog trapped in a little dog’s body!? Well, now you have!
Dash is a silly, adorable, and small guy! At 1 year old and just 25 lbs, he is believed to be a Dachshund/ Weimaraner mix. With the grey color of a Weimaraner, gorgeous grey/blue eyes, and long, short legged body, we think he is just the cutest mix ever!!
Dash was brought into a small shelter in New Mexico after he and another small dog were found trotting down the sidewalk together. Dash has now arrived in Colorado and is in a foster home, happy and ready to find his forever home!
From Dash's foster:

"So I decided Dash doesn’t suit him, he isn’t ‘dashing’ anywhere!! He is calm and sweet and snuggly! He the most gentle and loyal personality.
Dash loves other dogs and is super friendly and calm with them.
He loves a nice walk with lots of sniffing opportunities and exploring our backyard. When in the house he just wants to curl up on a rug next to you!! He also really enjoys a good game of fetch. Otherwise he is just SO sweet and earnest!
As for potty training, he hasn’t had any accidents in the house so I would say he is definitely potty trained!
He is just the most adorable little gentleman! I will be sad to see him go but he so deserves a loving home!!"

We don't know if Dash has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice.
Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful.
Dash has been fully vetted, is up to date on his vaccines, and neutered.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
