Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Meet Chowder – A Resilient Friend in Need of Love!** Chowder is an all-gray cat who has shown remarkable resilience and spirit despite his difficult past. At around 6 years old, he has a personality reminiscent of a grumpy old man, which adds to his charm. Rescued from a challenging hoarding situation, where he was found with 14 other cats, Chowder arrived at the shelter in need of tender loving care. Despite his rough beginnings, he remains trusting and is now ready to find a forever home where he can truly thrive. Chowder is a gentle soul who enjoys a calm, quiet environment with minimal noise. He craves companionship and would be comfortable as an only cat, as long as he has plenty of sunny spots to bask in and a loving human to snuggle with every night. Although he often sounds congested, it is understandable given his history. His affectionate nature and trust in kindness make him the perfect companion for someone looking to add a loving cat to their life. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Chowder, you’ll gain not just a pet but a loyal companion who believes in the goodness of people. Come meet Chowder and see if he is the perfect match for you! **Adoptions are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please fill out an application online on our website, and someone will contact you.** **All cats and kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be kept as indoor-only pets and cannot be declawed.** **All cats are spayed or neutered, FeLV tested, and microchipped. They are also dewormed and receive age-appropriate vaccinations.**All animals have been spayed/neutered, have been tested for heartworm/feline leukemia, have had age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, is on flea and parasite prevention and has been microchipped.
