My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Mr. Gato, which means Mr. Cat in Spanish. I am a 2-year-old walking love machine who loves to meet people. I had my own family, but somehow, I got out of the house and roamed for six months. I wish I could tell you what happened, but since my story only comes out in the tongue of cat, it will forever be locked inside. I returned home, but during my venture I broke my leg, and didn’t get medical treatment. I thought my family could help, but they didn’t have the money. Fortunately, they found Texas CARES who offered to take me in. I did go to the vet, but my injury was old and couldn’t be reset. My muscles in my shoulder have atrophied, so there’s no helping that either. I don’t really mind since I’m in no pain and have gotten quite used to it. I hold my foot up when I walk, but I kind of lean on my leg for balance now and then. Everyone decided it was best for me to keep my leg since I’m not in pain and I kind of use it. (I would have to agree!) Don’t worry, it doesn’t hold me back!

Enough about my past, let’s talk about who I am now! I am loving, want to always be around my person, don’t mind being picked up, enjoy leaning against my humans and will follow from room to room. Even when my foster mom works in the garage, I go out there in case she needs my help. I end up falling asleep, but I’m moral support. She’s working on this little house for tiny humans that works out well for me to crawl in and sleep. I’ve decided I want my own now.

I love wet food, dry food and treats. I’m vocal about meeting other cats, but I don’t mind them if they give me space. The four here are kind of confusing to me. One won’t talk to me, the other wants to yell at me, the third wants to follow me and wrestle, and the fourth likes to stare at me for a long time. It’s like he means to make me nervous, but that’s okay, I just look back and tell him to mind his own business.

I am very handsome, use the litter box perfectly, clean myself well and am always available for pets. I don’t like my butt or legs pet, but I’ll remind you with a meow and a hand grab. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I just want to make decisions for my own self.

If you want good company, cuteness, love and a good laugh now and then, I’m your guy. I get around just fine and can jump on your bed. Please come visit me. I would love my own home again. I won’t mind children of any age, but I might do best with children who will know that I don’t like my butt or legs pet. Again, I don’t bite, but I only have so many ways to tell humans to stop since they don’t speak cat.
