Meet Sapphire, a 3-year-old pit mix who is looking for a loving home of her own. She was brought to us after her previous family was no longer able to care for her, but despite the challenges she’s faced, Sapphire’s sweet and loving nature shines through. She gets along with everyone she meets, bringing joy to anyone lucky enough to cross her path.

Sapphire is an easygoing girl who enjoys her walks and behaves beautifully while on a leash. She sits nicely when it's time to eat and is a very well-mannered companion. Though she has had some urinary tract issues in the past, Sapphire responds well to her medication and has no accidents inside.

Currently, Sapphire is thriving in a foster home, but she’s anxiously waiting for a permanent place to call her own. We are located at 1200 North Delsea Drive, Clayton, New Jersey, 08312.

Adoption hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12 PM - 7 PM and Friday & Saturday 12 PM - 4 PM. We are closed on Sundays.

The Gloucester County Animal Shelter functions as an impoundment/adoption facility which temporarily houses lost, stray, unwanted or abandoned pets for the 24 municipalities in Gloucester County, until such time as they are reclaimed by their owner or adopted by a new family.The Shelter also provides a 24-hour emergency service for calls regarding animals that are sick, injured or posing an immediate threat to the public.

We have a very dedicated staff and volunteer core who work very hard to see that these homeless pets are given a second chance and placed in a proper homes. All animals are spayed/neutered at the time of their adoption and up to date on their age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm tested (for dogs) or feline combination tested (for cats) and microchipped.
