My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

. Ruger is a cute one-year old male Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV after hours on the evening of February 25, 2024 and left in our care along with his two companions (Beretta and Remington). The individual who drove them to our shelter did not leave any information with them, so it is unclear whether they were found as strays or were owner surrenders. None of the trio were wearing a collar, and they were not microchipped.

Ruger has a black/brindle-and-white coat, a long tail, and a darling face with with hopeful innocent dark brown eyes, a patch of brown around his right eye, a black button nose, and large floppy ears.

Ruger is a happy little guy with an affectionate, outgoing personality, and he still loves attention more than anything else in the world.

This little sweetheart weighs 29 lbs. Ruger isn't a very big boy when you see him in person.

Ruger was neutered on August 5, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine.

Ruger has become a favorite of our HSOV staff and volunteers (and Ruger especially looks forward to Volunteer Kathy Wilhelm who faithfully walks him several times a week).

Ruger has now spent one-half of his young life in our shelter and is 2-years old.

Ruger would love to find a home with someone special who would spoil him to his heart’s content and become their new best friend/faithful companion.

Ruger was adopted on October 1, 2025.
