Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a
question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If
interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found
at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.
Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up
meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file.
Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Wilmington, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit.
Meet Peanut! Peanut is an 11-year-old, 22 lb., Dachshund who was fostered by a shelter volunteer while recovering from a hernia operation and spay. We were glad to step in and help.
Once Peanut was fully recovered from her first surgery, she received a mammary mass removal and dental at our vet. She has good vision and hearing and is fully potty trained. Peanut gets along great with cats and dogs and would do well with older, dog savvy children. She walks well on a leash and would love to have a fenced-in yard to explore. Peanut can handle stairs and sleeps next to her foster mom in bed. She is an incredibly patient dog who loves to be picked up and cuddled. Peanut doesn’t enjoy being alone, and would prefer a home where someone is around more often than not. A dog friend to keep her company would also be ideal.
Peanut is a super fun pup who brings smiles to everyone who meets her. She insists on having blankets to burrow in and will even take herself to bed if you ask her. Peanut loves to be talked to and will “talk” back. She doesn’t bother anything in the house and will wiggle her whole butt if you call her Peanut Butter Butt. If you need a super easy, super loving pup in your life, please apply today!
