My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Lucky" Leo was found alone in a park by a kind-hearted stranger and taken to the local vet for an exam. Afflicted with Syphilis and sporting some mysterious lumps on his chest and shoulders, this plush rex really needed some serious TLC. The rescuer started treatments right away, and commited to housing him while we helped them through the larger issues. Lucky indeed!

After lump removal, Leo had to wear a little surgery shirt to keep his incisions clean and let things heal. He did great with his meds, recovered from the procedure (and his neuter) well, and was prepped for next steps in his journey. Leo was then adopted quickly by a family looking for a companion for their bun... but it's just not working out. So he's ready to try again!

Leo is super affectionate and loves to snack. He's curious and likes to explore, but also tolerates being picked-up when needed; he also has tidy litter habits.

Give this lucky guy the happy story he deserves: a safe home and loving family. Apply to adopt today.

More about this rescue

We are the primary house rabbit rescue in the Houston Area. We work with area shelters to move rabbits into foster care (particularly rabbits in danger of euthanasia) and with owner surrenders when the owner is willing to "Foster in Place" (continue to provide space and care for the rabbit(s) while we assist in facilitating an adoption.

Through partnerships with area veterinarians, we spay/neuter all of the rabbits in our foster care as well as many rabbits in area shelters. We work to educate the public about house rabbits and their care and the need for spay/neuter. We encourage responsible adoptions to indoor homes and discourage impulse adoptions/purchases (particularly "Easter bunnies").
