My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ted: a senior gentleman with a strong personality and a deep love for the good things in life—peace, personal space, and high-value snacks.

Ted came to the shelter after his lifelong owner entered hospice care. He’s adjusting well in a foster home, where his true personality is shining through: he’s independent, discerning with his affection, and appreciates a calm, adult-only environment.

Ted prefers to be the only pet in the home and takes time to warm up to new people—but once he trusts you, he enjoys being near you and resting his head on your lap. He’s house-trained, enjoys routine, and has a big soft spot for food puzzles and stuffed Kongs.

Ted would do best with someone who respects his boundaries and understands the quirks that come with a senior dog who’s been through a lot. He’s not a dog park type—he’s more of a “slow walk then nap” kind of guy.

Ted is looking for a quiet, adult-only home with no other pets, where he can live out his golden years with dignity, structure, and lots of snacks.
