My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jessie is a spirited and affectionate 1-year-old, 38-pound puggle with a zest for life! Her lively personality and playful energy make her a joy to be around. Jessie has a big heart and an even bigger love for people—she doesn’t believe in personal space, preferring to shower her humans with kisses and cuddles whenever she can.

She enjoys playing with other dogs but has a tendency to be a bit dominant, so she’ll thrive best with playmates who can match her energy and confidence. Jessie is looking for a home where she can share her endless affection and playful spirit with a family who will adore her as much as she adores them.

Walk-ins are available from Tuesday to Friday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Saturday and Sundays have walk-in hours from noon to 4 PM. More about this rescue

Since 2006, we have operated Plano's first no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from local municipal shelters.

We supply them with needed medical care, food, and shelter. Just as important, we provide all of our cats and dogs with the love and attention they deserve until they are placed into their forever homes. Come visit us and adopt your newest family member today! Everyone deserves a second chance.

Second Chance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are not affiliated with, nor do we receive any funding from, the SPCA of Texas, ASPCA, or any other humane organization. We do not receive any city, state, or federal funds.

Over the last 10 years, we've rescued over 3,200 dogs and cats who were slated for euthanasia at DFW municipal shelters and placed them with forever families.
