My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

- adoption is pending

Introducing to you : BABE, the Blue-eyed Boy Wonder!

Babe is about a year old, 15lb australian shepherd mix who is doing great in his foster home. His foster mom says he’s one of the friendliest, smartest, sweetest, cutest, and zippiest dogs she’s ever seen! He came to us as a stray who no one claimed but he was obviously someone’s pet. He walks relatively well on the leash, and he’s about 90% potty trained. (Clearly a super quick learner.)

He does have that working dog’s need to be kept busy and he really wants to connect deeply with his human. He’s super friendly with other animals, even those that aren’t necessarily that friendly with him, like his foster’s cats. He also does great kids, he’s probably too active and bouncy for young children.

An ideal home for him would be one with another active doggy friend, a fenced-in yard (he can fit through an iron fence), owners who love to walk or run, and are home more than gone or work from home. He is still getting used to being crated and does best if there is another dog to keep him company. Please fill out an application if you are interested.

Adoption donation required. This covers altering, DAP series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, heartworm test (if over 8 months), monthly flea/heartworm prevention to date, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation.

All SOAR dogs go through a ten-day quarantine period to ensure they are healthy, before being adopted. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, but screen applicants in order to find the best fit for our adoptable dogs.
