Dixie is a bright, playful, athletic, independent young lady. She is adjusting well to her new foster home, which includes a resident 6 year old pup. Dixie has a ton of energy and thoroughly enjoys playing with an abundance of toys or her new buddy Waylon, resident pup. With warmer weather, she got her first chance to explore the neighborhood. Dixie is working on her confidence in meeting new people and other dogs and is doing well considering she is just days into her Minnesota adventure to find her forever home. This curious puppy watched in wonder as a pair of noisy geese took flight only to land in a nearby pond without the urge to chase after them. Often Dixie will just sit in the yard and take everything in, whether it be local kids getting on the school bus, another dog walking by or birds chirping in a nearby tree. It’s so enjoyable watching Dixie’s world get bigger and bigger every day.

Dixie is working hard to conquer potty training and is improving as she gets more accustomed to a schedule. Even after a few days, she’s showing a tendency to head for the door when she needs to go potty. I’m confident she will be potty trained in short order.

Dixie gets along famously with my resident dog. We are already working on manners at meal time. She doesn’t want to eat her meals in the x-pen anymore, but in the same room as her foster brother. We are already introducing simple training such as sit and stay. She is doing well sleeping in her kennel at night. Dixie is a social girl during the day and wants to be where the action is.

Dixie is a go-getter and a high energy pup who will thrive in a family atmosphere that matches her zest for life. You will be rewarded with some snuggles at days’ end that are as sweet as can be.

Dixie is estimated to be 3.5 months old and 17 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested.
