Meet Dixie! This sweet 1.5-year-old terrier mix is searching for a quiet, patient forever home where she can truly feel safe and loved. Dixie has taken a little extra time to settle into her foster home, but once she trusts you, she’ll be your shadow—following you everywhere and wanting to be held or snuggled up beside you all day long.

She’s house-trained, good with kids, and does well on a leash. Dixie does okay with other calm, respectful dogs, but would be happiest as the only pup in the household. Dixie will thrive in a calm environment with someone who understands that she may need a little time to adjust, but once she does, she’ll be your most loyal companion.

More about this rescue

We help animals who are in need by placing them in a loving foster home, providing medical care, and finding the perfect home for that animal to live in for the rest of its life. Tails of Hope takes mainly dogs, but has occasionally helped other animals in need. We take animals in through shelters and other rescue organizations, as strays, or as owner surrenders from people in our local communities.
