My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kiki is a beautiful cat who's still learning to trust the world around her. Right now, the shelter is a scary place for her, and she's feeling pretty overwhelmed. While she may greet new situations with hisses and growls, we can see glimpses of the sweet girl she truly wants to be-leaning in for hesitant headbutts when she's looking for comfort.

We believe that with time, patience, and a quiet, loving home, Kiki has so much potential to come out of her shell. She just needs someone willing to give her the space to grow at her own pace. Given how unsure she is, Kiki is looking for a home without small children, dogs, or hyperactive felines who might add to her stress. However, she may do well with a calm, friendly cat, as she has lived with other cats successfully in the past.

If you have a gentle heart and an understanding soul, Kiki could be the perfect companion for you. Are you the special person who can help her find her confidence and show the world the loving cat she's meant to be? 💕 Please submit a pre-adoption questionnaire here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
