DOB: 1996
Tyler was dumped near Cub Foods right after Thanksgiving break. Since he didn’t know how to live on his own (or shop for food) he was nearly a skeleton by the time he was rescued.
Even though he had been neutered and probably wasn’t actually looking for a fight, he got into a tussle with another cat and came to us with a smouldering abcess on his back.
Just becoming accustomed to good nutrition was stressful for Tyler’s system. He still exhibits the “starving stray” snarfing routine at mealtimes and is rather food oriented. Tyler can be pretty vocal, especially when he wants food. He has now doubled his weight and could stand to loose a few ounces!
Judging by his behavior, Tyler has not had experience living with other cats. He tolerates them, but does not go out of his way to interact with them. It's clear that Tyler has had some negative experiences with dogs. He really avoids them.
Right now he needs a home where he'd be the only cat (or maybe one of two cats in a large house) to experience more examples of positive interactions with humans and others. Like most of us, Tyler also needs to become less sedentary.
Tyler likes: cruising for food; mountain climbing for the view (he likes being one level above the other cats); wand toys.
He dislikes: loud voices; most other cats.
