My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Marzipan was brought in by a Community Member on February 25th, 2025.

Why Marzipan is the one for you:
This sweet girl is as wiggly and lovable as they come! Marzipan loves a good treat and seeking attention from her people. Once she's comfortable, this mellow gal wants nothing more than to be snuggled up next to you. Don't get us started on her adorable snorts when she smells something yummy! Since we're still getting to know her, we're not sure about her favorite things yet, but one thing's for sure-she's eager to learn! Marzipan seems to be potty trained, and absolutely loves car rides! Although she adores people, Marzipan prefers not to share her space with other pups and is looking for a home without other canines. This black and white pittie pie does have two fractured teeth which would likely need removal in the near future. If you're looking for a friendly, affectionate pup to bring home, fill out the interest form above! She's even sweeter than her namesake!

At SDHS:
Marzipan has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
