Meet Nova, a puppy whose spirit is as bright as a supernova. Her sweetness is infectious, and her playful nature can bring joy to the gloomiest of days. She is brave, she HAD to be! She was dumped in middle of the woods with her siblings. Despite that, this spirited little pup still loves to explore and play, always ready for a game of fetch or a run in the park. More about this shelter

The Stone County SPCA was organized in 2009 and opened a shelter in 2012 in Wiggins, MS. We have always been a no kill shelter. Our biggest challenge is the high demand to place dogs and cats in our shelter. Currently, we take in approximately 1200 animals annually. We do not euthanize animals for lack of space. We have a live release rate of 95%. We do this by keeping adoption fees low and transporting a large percentage of our animals (65% of our dogs and puppies).
