My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sadie Rose – The Gentle Girl With a Heart of Gold

Hello, I’m Sadie Rose – a sweet, affectionate, and intelligent girl who’s patiently waiting to find a calm and loving forever home. I may not have had the easiest start in life, but my heart is full of love to give. I came from a breeder where I had a litter or two, but those days are behind me now. I’m looking forward to a future where I’m not just “a dog,” but truly someone’s beloved companion.

When I first arrived at my foster home, I didn’t know any commands – but I’m a quick learner! My foster dad says I’m very smart and eager to please. I’ve picked up on my training well and enjoy learning new things. While I’m not timid, I can be a bit cautious when meeting new people. Give me a little time, space, and kindness, and I’ll soon be your most loyal shadow, following you everywhere you go.

Young children? Not really my thing – their energy and need for constant attention are a bit much for me. But if you’re a quiet, retired couple or a single person who values peace and companionship, we could be a perfect match.

I absolutely love my daily walks – sniffing around the neighborhood, spotting birds, and soaking in all the new scents is the highlight of my day. I’m a good leash walker and very well-behaved. I also enjoy car rides, especially in my foster dad’s pickup with the window cracked open – there’s nothing like the breeze and a good critter-spotting session!

At home, I adore having a fenced yard to do my zoomies and keep the yard clear of birds and squirrels. I would do best as a only dog. My safe place is a covered crate, where I sleep through the night peacefully – no midnight potty breaks, I promise!

What I’m Looking For:

  • A quiet, calm home
  • A human (or two) to bond with and love deeply
  • A comfy bed (or lap!) to snuggle in
  • A fenced yard for zoomies and bird patrol
  • A life full of gentle moments and kind people

From Foster Mom:  Sadie has already stolen her foster dad’s heart, and now she’s ready to steal yours too. If you're looking for a devoted, soulful, and gentle companion, Sadie may be just the girl you’ve been waiting for. Sadie is a spayed, almost 4 yr old, 34# orange/white Brittany. Housebroken, crate trained, utd on vaccines, heartworm/tick neg and on prevention.

The adoption fee for TX/Sadie Rose, who lives in Piedmont, SD  is $400,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making TX/Sadie Rose part of your family, please complete the online application by visiting www.nbran.orgContact the South Central Region Coordinators Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com  and/or Chris Wagoner at cwnbran@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Sadie Rose.

Transportation can be arranged up 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Each adopter must complete an application on our website at www.nbran.org. A volunteer will contact you and work with you to find the perfect fit for your family and the brittany. A homevisit is required, as this is the only way we can be sure the right dog is being placed with you. Once the right brittany has been found, we will help transport him we only ask the adopting family to drive the last leg if it is a long distance adoption.
