My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Night, a little male Terrier mix with a heart full of love! This 15-pound boy is around 3 years old and will need an experienced adopter who will give him a week+ to settle in and get used to you. He can be nippy at first, but once he gets to know you, he is very loving. Night also has a complicated relationship with men. No kids in the house for this little guy.

Night is a little lovebug who absolutely thrives on human companionship. He’s deeply attached to his human(s) and enjoys being picked up and held close. Whether it’s curling up on the couch or simply following you around the house, Night is happiest when he's by your side. He would do best in a home where his humans are present most of the time - either at home or taking him with them on adventures (he loves the car and travels well). He’s the perfect companion for someone who wants a small, affectionate dog who will always be near, and who can give him a few days of patience to get acclimated to you and his new home.

When it comes to play, Night is full of surprises! He’s never far from his miniature Lambchop stuffed animal, which he carries around with him wherever he goes. He surprised his foster mom by running and jumping into Long Island Sound and proved he can swim. When he gets the zoomies, there’s no stopping him! His bursts of playful energy are absolutely contagious, as he zips around with pure joy and excitement. He may be small, but he’s big on affection, adventure, and pure cuteness—especially with his adorable underbite!

Night is friendly with other dogs and loves to play, making him a great companion for furry friends. He has not been cat-tested.

Night is currently in Connecticut, looking for a forever home where he can continue to shower his humans with affection, playfulness, and plenty of cuddles. If you’re seeking a small but mighty companion with a big heart and a knack for spreading joy, Night could be the perfect fit for you.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
