Paris is a 2 year old chihuahua/yorkie (chorky) mix. She was surrendered by her owner because she was terrorizing her older dog from what she believed to be jealousy as Paris is very needy. She appears to suffer from a degree of separation anxiety and has an above average need to be near you and velcro herself to wherever you are. We have not observed any aggression towards our other dogs here but we are also working to break her of her constant need to be with someone at all times (very slow going). Paris does get very vocal and will whine, cry and scream to get her way and be near you. If you do not like a vocal dog,Paris is definitely not the dog for you. However, if you are someone who is home most of the time or are a person who takes their dog everywhere and are seldom separated from them, Paris would be the ideal companion. She loves giving kisses and attention to you as much as she wants and needs it from you. She would be the perfect dog for a lonely person who wants a best friend and constant companion. Paris would need to be crated by her former owner if she had to leave her home alone for any period of time and we do crate her here overnight but she really does not like it. She would much rather be sleeping with you in your bed. Former owner stated that she would become destructive if left out and to her own devices when home alone (this can be very typical of separation anxiety). Her former owner stated she had never been around young children but my 6 year old grandson picked her up and didn't have any issues with nipping or trying to bite although we would recommend older kids just to be safe. Former owner stated that she isnt too fond of cats but most cats are as big or bigger than she is so they should be fine with proper introductions. Other info provided by former owner is that she loves to ride, will need to be in a secure yard or on a leash when outside and can be food aggressive (we have not seen this with the other dogs but may be too early and she doesnt feel comfortable enough to express herself yet or could have just been something she had an issue with at her former home, like her dislike/jealousy of the other dog in the home). Much of the information given to us about Paris was from her original owner and some we have observed here and others not but she has only been with us for a short time so some behaviors may not have manifested yet however,
we always feel it is important to divulge anything info we can obtain or may have (either observed by us or from a previous owner/home situation) to find the best home fit possible for our dogs. Paris is super adorable and will win hearts with her cuteness but please make sure that you have read her bio and are willing to deal with her particular quirks because they can be trying for someone who isn't prepared or just jumped to say they were interested because she is small and cute. She is definitely not going to be a good fit for everyone but as we said above, if you are a homebody and rarely leave the house and are looking for that velcro type companion who idolizes and dotes on you, Paris may be the perfect pup for you.
Paris saw the vet on 3/21/25 and was found to have no issues noted. She has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention and she had a negative heartworm test. She did also test negative for intestinal parasites on her fecal. Paris weighed 8.2 pounds as of 3/21/25.
If interested in giving Paris
her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Paris's adoption fee will be $400 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Paris based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.

More about this rescue
We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 1,000 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on www.petfinder.com. We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!
