My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aubrey: A Loving 1-2 Year Old Mix Looking for Her Forever Home! ?

Aubrey is a sweet and affectionate 1-2 year old, 40 lb, mix who’s ready to find the loving home she deserves! She’s had a bit of a tough time with adoptions in the past because she’s initially nervous around new people, but once she warms up, she’s an incredibly loving companion. Aubrey thrives with other dogs and finds a lot of confidence in their presence, making her a great fit for a home with furry friends.

Despite her shyness at first, Aubrey is fully trained in obedience, both on and off leash, indoors and outdoors. She’s a well-behaved girl who’s eager to please once she feels comfortable. She’s looking for someone who will be patient and understanding as she opens up and shows her true, affectionate side.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and trainable dog who will be your best friend once she feels safe, Aubrey might be the perfect match for you. Don’t miss out on the chance to give this sweet girl the forever home she deserves.

Aubrey is around 1-2 years old and 40 lbs. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you would like more information about Aubrey, please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. To apply to adopt, please visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
