Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a beautiful young dog that desperately needs our help. Carmel was one of these dogs that deserved, due to her excellent temperament and all the love she'll bring to a family, to be rescued from a scary Texas shelter. She just transported to Colorado and is ready to join a dog-crazy family that will love and respect this wonderful spirit.
This blue-eyed cutie is an 11 months old, 15lb Chihuahua / Pug mix.
From Carmel's foster:
"This sweet girl is so awesome. She is gaining more confidence every day, and she is so friendly, playful, and CUTE! She is a very happy and friendly dog, and her tail is basically always wagging. She does great with other dogs as well and loves to snuggle."
Carmel is a perfect size and weight to accompany her family just about everywhere a sweet dog is welcome. She'll fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament, sweetness and engaging nature once she's comfortable in her new environment. Our dream for this very loving pup is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life.
As Carmel becomes more and more comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Carmel will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see our wonderful girl in a home that includes her in family time and activities (some lap-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Carmel the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area.
Carmel will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible young pup. She would also be a great addition to a younger family that works from a home-based office. We feel Carmel is too sensitive a dog to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home.
Carmel has been fully vetted, vaccinated and spayed. These protocols support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis in the canine community.
Carmel is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Carmel please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
