Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carter is a cute one-year old male Yellow Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on March 20, 2025 by a Good Samaritan who found him near the Warren Township Fire Department on SR550 in the Marietta Ohio area. Carter was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
This adorable young man has a yellow/tan short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with dark brown eyes, black shading on his slender muzzle, and large floppy ears which frame his face.
Carter has a happy fun-loving personality and doesn't seem to take life too seriously. He was delighted when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied him outdoors for what he thought was a fun-and-games session ... He loved that Emily joined in the fun and showered him with attention while he was having his photos taken.
Carter weighs 43 lbs. He didn't appear to have had much walking-on-a-leash experience, but he made a noble effort with Emily by his side.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Carter will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
Since he was not reclaimed, Carter was neutered on April 2, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine.
Carter went home with a foster family on April 4, 2025 who plans to adopt him if all goes well.
Carter was returned to HSOV by his foster family on April 25, 2025 and is available for adoption~
