Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Clyde, our 8 week old puppy, would like you to evaluate your life. Look around. Is everything where you put it? No tiny turds on the floor? Do your shoes remain un-chewed? Clyde is on a one-puppy mission to change that for you. Time for some chaos; embrace entropy! How, you may ask? Adopt Clyde!
The shelter asked for our help with Clyde when he was found abandoned at 5 weeks old. They also worried that Clyde had some vision impairment. Upon taking Clyde in, we discovered that he can see just fine. Instead, we diagnosed Clyde with being a major dork. We will not promise this will change as he gets older.
Clyde, when he's holding still, is really sweet and snuggly. He loves food and is smart despite being a dweeb. Even at only 8 weeks old, he's learning to sit. Like all puppies, Clyde loves to play. He also likes to scream when he wants something (typical puppy behavior). Clyde will put anything in his dumb little mouth: fingers, pant legs, shoes (with our without toes inside). He is currently working on crate and potty training but is at "novice" level.
Clyde is well socialized to people, kids and other dogs. He has been neutered already but will need vaccines every 3 weeks until he is 16 weeks old. Until those final vaccines, Clyde doesn't have enough immunity for dog parks and the like. However, he has enough immunity to enroll in puppy kindergarten and socializing groups. This, along with continued training, is highly recommended. Like, seriously. Don't adopt a puppy unless you want to do this. Clyde is also microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea and heartworm preventatives.
We expect Clyde to be a big boy over 60 pounds when fully grown.
All kidding aside, raising a puppy (although painful) is so rewarding. Especially when you both come out the other side as BFFs. Think you're up to the challenge? Clyde is going to be an awesome doofus when he's all grown up. Apply to adopt at www.stumptownstrays.org
