My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SIMON, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org

Simon was a “Covid dog” and the adopter is now looking to re-home him. Here is what his adopter has to say about him-

Simon is a sweet boy with a lot of energy - a perfect adventure companion. He needs to be in a home with a lot of stimulation - preferably with parents who run or hike. He is very playful and loves car rides and water. He has mild resource guarding behaviors so he should not be left unsupervised with other dogs or small children. He also can't live in a home with cats.

Simon has lived happily in his home for 4yrs. He is a great adventure companion who loves the car, water, and the woods. Due to recent changes in the adopter’s life and job circumstances he is unable to meet Simon’s high activity needs.

Simon has destructive and anxious behaviors when he is not properly stimulated. He will chew things he’s not supposed to and bark. He is not suitable in a home where he needs to be left alone for long periods of time. When he has the exercise and attention he needs these behaviors are not an issue. He has been through 4 training classes and is very responsive and intelligent.

Please consider making Simon part of your family.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a physical location. We try to give our animals the best foster experience possible, not only for their comfort, but to implement training and make sure they are getting the best care imaginable. Once you are approved for an meet and greet, we are more than willing to bring the dog to your home so that you can spend time with the dog(s) of your choice

More about this rescue

Furkid Rescue is a small, private home-based rescue located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We officially started our organized rescue efforts in the spring of 2008, but have been rescuing and working with other rescue groups and local shelters for over 5 years. We take in mainly Pit Bull puppies who have been rescued from gas kill pounds, animal control facilities, backyard breeders, or people who are no longer able to keep their pets. We rarely take in owner’s surrenders unless we find that the owner has a valid reason for abandoning the pet. Furkid Rescue will also save other breeds when there is room in one of our breed-experienced foster homes. You may see mastiffs, chihuahuas, or a fabulous mutt who needs a wonderful home! Please visit our main site to read more about our rescue, our adoption process, and to download an adoption application. www.furkidrescue.org
