Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Blossom''s engaging and sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. She is such a wonderful being. We think she represents the best qualities of both the Maltese and West Highland Terrier (Westie) breeds.
At just about 8ish years old and 11 lbs, Blossom the perfect size for neighborhood walks, car rides to dog-friendly destinations or fun backyard play. All would speak to Blossom's love of coming along and being with her family. Blossom would love nothing more than to spend a day of cuddling and walks followed by crashing on the couch for belly rubs and snuggles all night long.
Blossom is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Blossom in a home that includes her in family time and activities. She's very social and engaging (once comfortable in her environment) and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member.
Blossom would be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with an adorable Terrier mix. Blossom's nature is to be a very happy girl who represents the joyful attitude of theTerrier breed. While she might be initially shy or frightened (rehoming and transport can be very scary), some kind words, a loving hug and a yummy treat and Blossom falls deeply in love.
Blossom doesn't require another dog to be happy. She loves her people dearly and if they're attentive and loving, this sweet and loyal girl will be fulfilled and content. If a gentle dog is already part of a family, that's great with Blossom as well. She enjoys her time spent in the company of a canine and that dog will ultimately become Blossom's best friend.
Blossom will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. A car ride is also always fun..especially if it leads to a wonderful, dog-loving spot. At day's end, a place on the bed all night beside her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this little dog.
Blossom's Texas rescuer had the following to say about sweet Blossom:
Miss Blossom is a one of a kind special girl. She's full of pure love and is as happy as can be once she's comfortable in her environment. This little girl has been through so much and therefore can be initially a bit shy.. but who wouldn't be? Through it all, our sweet Blossom has maintained a positive spirit with a warm and welcoming attitude.
Blossom's owners surrendered her to a scary high-kill Texas shelter because she had an easily treatable UTI. It is currently being treated and seems to be completely under control.
Blossom is currently in a foster home with kids ranging from 5-11 years old..and she's very sweet with them and doing really well! There is also a large, active dog in the home that she doesn't love, but they co-exist peacefully. There's no question that Blossom is 100% a velcro lap dog. While she was initially a bit shy upon her arrival..I gave her space and within a short time she was my best friend. This wonderful girl is ready to be a companion dog that accompanies her favorite people everywhere they go. Blossom enjoys walks / hikes and socializing...when her little legs get tired she'd love a stroller... or a front pack or carrier to enjoy the views from above.
Blossom's new family will need to plan on periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 12 weeks) and excellent nutrition to keep her coat cotton-soft and shining with good health.
Blossom has been fully vetted, vaccinated and spayed to comply with Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation tragedy in the canine population
Blossom will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 4/4/2025. Adoption applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and cuddly best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Blossom, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
