Binx – Your New, Slightly Hostile Home Decor Piece

Do you love the idea of a cat but not all that “petting” and “cuddling” nonsense? Do you long for a majestic feline presence in your home—one that will grace you with his existence but not your lap? Then congratulations! You may be worthy of Binx, the 18-month-old tabby with the attitude of a grumpy old man who just wants to be left alone with his newspaper.

Binx is not here for your affection. He will take exactly zero of your snuggles, but he will take your admiration from a respectful distance. Think of him as a living, breathing, occasionally swatting piece of modern art. He enjoys sitting in the perfect sunbeam, casting judgmental glares, and reminding you—sometimes with claws—that personal space is a two-way street.

He has lived with other cats and tolerated their presence, but if they get too close? BAP. If you get too close? DOUBLE BAP. He’s not aggressive, per se—just aggressively not interested in being touched.

Please note the "Available" date in the pets description, or contact the shelter to be sure the pet you wish to see is available for adoption. Not all the animals posted are available for adoption, some are still on their "stray holds", this is to allow people who may be looking for a lost pet an opportunity to see the animal in our shelter, it also allows people to see what may be coming available for adoption.

1. All adoptions are on a first come first serve basis, except, if there is more than one person at our doors when we open (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday & Thursday 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturday 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm) we will have a drawing with the winner having first option to adopt.

2. The adoption fee is $10.00 for non-residents and $15.00 for residents (residents must purchase a city registration)

3. The adopter will be required to sign a contract stating they will have the animal spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies and provide proof to our office with in 30 days of the adoption, or 30 days after the animal turns 4 months.

4. All fees for veterinary care, including altering is the sole responsibility of the adopter.

5. If the adopter fails to have the procedures completed and the receipt of the procedures returned to our office a citation with fines of up to $2000.00 may be issued.
