My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Truffle was brought in by a community member on January 21, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Say hello to this handsome boy, Truffle! He's as sweet as his name and ready to melt your heart. Truffle's favorite things include squeaky toys and chasing tennis balls, so be prepared for some high-energy playtime that will keep you entertained for hours. Being such an active boy, he can have some trouble controlling his excitement. Due to this, he is looking for a home with children over the age of 10 who must be present to meet him before bringing him home. While he doesn't have any history with cats, he has been known to do well with other playful doggy friends! He's a true ray of sunshine who can't wait to brighten your day with his playful antics and big personality. Whether it's hiking through the trails, strolling down the block, or just hanging out at home, Truffle is up for it all. With his zest for life, you'll never have a dull moment with this guy around. Ready, set, go-Truffle is all set to be the new, fun-filled addition to your life. Don't forget to bring a collar and leash when you take him home, and let the good times roll!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
