My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ernie joined Mules N More in July, 2024 as part of a 10 pig intake to assist another animal rescue. He is estimated to be around 3 years old. He is fully vetted (up to date on yearly swine atrophic rhinitis vaccine, hoof trimming, tusk trimming, and deworming). He is extremely shy and timid. He was our most overweight pig and needs to be kept on a strict diet to help him continue to lose much needed weight. He will require a very pig savvy owner to establish a trusting bond with him and help him to learn that humans are not to be feared.

More about this rescue

We rescue pigs, mules, horses, and other farm animals, offering them the medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation they require to thrive. Our primary mission is to find permanent, responsible homes for these animals, ensuring they are placed in environments where they can live happy and healthy lives.

In addition to rescuing and adopting out animals, we are committed to providing adopters with the education and resources they need to care for their new companions. We offer guidance on proper care, health management, and safe handling, ensuring that adopters are fully prepared to meet the needs of their adopted animals. Our adoption process includes thorough screening to ensure a good match between the animal and the adopter, and we provide continued support to ensure the animals’ well-being long after adoption.

We believe that education is key to preventing future abandonment and ensuring the longevity of the animal-human bond. By equipping adopters with knowledge and resources, we help ensure that our animals are not only rescued but also given a second chance at a fulfilling life in a supportive, well-informed home.
